"Montessori..." bask in that beautiful word and all it encompasses. Now, attach the word "home" to it. What does it spell? Montessori Home. What a concept! What a wonderful concept!
We are an eclectic homeschool that incorporate The Montessori Method in nearly every subject we learn. Why? Simply because of what Montessori stands for: supporting child dignity, fostering independence, inviting peace, encouraging spontaneous education, teaching care for one's self and the environment, finding beauty in everything, just to name a few.

Babies and toddlers are sponges when it comes to absorbing everything that is around them. Their brains are developing at fascinating speeds and it is up to us to help that process be successful by exposing them to materials that make them think. Here are some gifts to foster that.

Sensorial materials are so wonderful in the sole fact that they inspire and encourage independence by providing the ability to self-check their work. There is no need for external correction because the materials themselves have tactile as well as visual clues when the material is out of order.
I like how the author of this eBook puts it,

Learning independence is paramount for the children's proper development and dignity. These activities will help them feel successful and active members of their society.
