Character Traits Books

These are pictures of the list of children's books that focus/highlight certain character traits like honesty, truthfulness, cooperation, no put downs, etc.

Take a look, pick a trait, and go find some
of these book in your local library.

Your kid will love that special time together with you
and he/she will be learning an important life skill.

January 2013 Soccer Mom!

Can I just tell you what a big deal it was for me to get that title? Wellllll, now that we've been at it for a few weeks, I must say, that it can only get better. Haha. Let me explain.
K is the youngest kid in his group (3-5 years of age) and he is oblivious regarding team work, why everyone follows just one ball (without sharing) when everyone could have one of their own, and why it's important to stay inside the white lines (i.e. the field).
He has basically used this time to run around, realize that he needs to pee, and kick the ball (occasionally).
I know, I am sounding a bit bitter about the whole thing. I am not. I think I had certain expectations and then realized that he is still very young. He is really good at playing soccer at home with dad, though, so I am still hopeful. May next year be much better! :)
I must say, though, he looks adorable wearing his team jersey (The Sharks) and running around, kicking his size 3 ball. I love him!

January 2013 Sweetest Gift

Made baby girl's smash cakes (one for her photo shoot and one for her birthday party) the other day and I used beets to sweeten it. Look at the pretty color!
Let me know if you are interested in the recipe.
The mix looked great, but once it baked, I realized that it wasn't a pretty magenta anymore, but rather looked like a red velvet cake. I should've used half the amount of beets, I think.
She loved it, regardless of the red (and not magenta) color.
I love her so much! Can't believe she's one year old! <3

January 2013 (Home)school Work

First, we focused on the basic shapes: circle, triangle, square
Then the next set of shapes: diamond, oval, rectangle.
One of our favorite books to read
Practicing tracing squares
He did great!
He is definitely a righty, but he does use his left hand for many things.
