Homeschooling Journal: January 2014 Part 6

Happy birthday, baby girl! She is two now and she is such a blessing to us! We love her!
Science Experiments Class
In science this month we have learned about the brain and nervous system - 3 parts of the brain, how the brain stem works, coordination, hemispheres, nerves.
We also learned about cells - basic building blocks, working together as a team and identifying different cells - this was met with an experiment - the kids loved it
Today we will be learning about why our arms swing (M. is curious and it goes back to the parts of the brain lesson).
We will then move on to learn about our ears with a few experiments and hopefully I'll remember to take pictures!

The Words Every Little Girl Should Hear from Her Daddy

As girls (females), I would say we have a more pronounced need or desire to be loved and accepted for who we are on the inside (in our hearts), not for our external beauty (our bodies), our brains (our ideas and intelligence) or the amount of influence we have (how popular we are).
Every little girl wants to be held in her daddy's strong and loving arms and be told how special she is, how important she is, how he appreciates her, how their family would be lacking if she wasn't in it. And the list goes on. It is all, basically, about feeling loved, especially by her daddy.
Look at this picture up-close. Can you see all of my freckles and "beauty marks?" Well, they weren't always marks of beauty in my life and they weren't always accepted by me and others. This is how all that changed.
