This is what we did in our homeschool during the middle and towards the end of January 2014.
Soccer Season
K is doing so much better this year. Last year, he had just turned 3 when he started. He wasn't very interested, he didn't understand the game very well and he felt a bit out of sorts because he was the youngest one in the group (ages 3-5). This year, he is loving it so much and doing much better. He still hasn't scored any goals, but at least he is running in the right direction, haha!
Spanish: All about Me (Todo Acerca de Mí) Lapbook

A Visit to the Dentist
This is the second time that K goes to the dentist and A's first time. I was going to wait until she was three years old, but she got a tiny chip on her front tooth and I wanted them to check it out. My mother-in-law went with me and both children were perfect! Both had wonderful teeth, no problems. Not only do we try to have better nutrition (avoiding sugars and processed foods), but we also make our own toothpaste. To see the two recipes we use, CLICK HERE.

Gym Time!
Today in gym they practiced the art of sharing & soccer!
Art: Silhouettes and Personal Character Traits
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, whose personal character traits include "freedom, integrity, peace, dream, and many others," we made silhouettes to show how we are all different and then cut out character traits that were describing each child and they glued them on their silhouette page.
Montessori Culture (Geography): Penpal and Postcard Exchange
K's little English penpal sent him another envelope with all kinds of fun goodies. They love getting each other's stuff and his mom and I really enjoy that friendship they have. One of these days, we will make a skype connection or something. :)
French: La Famille (The Family)
We
drew faces on each of one hand's fingers to represent the family (thumb
to pinky): dad, mom, brother, sister, baby. Père, mère, frère, sœur,
bebé. We sang the song with all 5 family members. Then we traced our hands and drew faces on the digits. At the end, we labeled them in French.
Healthy Snack
My children love to have this kind of thing as a snack (and organic ranch dressing).

"My House" Toddler / Preschool / Kindergarten Craft

A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education)
Physical education and coordination. He was supposed to lay on his stomach, turn head to one side, place his thumb on his nose and slowly bend his knee and bring it up until his knee touches his elbow (see picture).It requires listening skills, flexibility and concentration.
Repeat on both sides several times (2-3 times).
Craft about the Bible story of Balaam and the talking donkey (Numbers 22).
